Small bottle of Sananga

Sananga

Sananga is an extract of the mascerated root bark of the Tabernaemontana Undulata or Tabernaemontana Sanana, shrubs that grows in the rainforest of the Amazon. The root bark of the plant is ground to a fine powder, soaked in water, and then strained and resulting liquid is a powerful substance. It is used for a variety of reasons.

Traditionally, Sananga is used by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon for:

  • Hunting - improved eyesight leads to more effective hunting.

  • Clear Panema - Panema is dark energy that affects relationships, luck, health of the mind and body, and every energetic and spiritual level of your life.

  • Depression and other psychic conditions

In our culture, Sananga can be used to treat some of those same conditions or situations and it can also help with:

  • General feeling of well-being

  • Mental clarity

  • Cleaning the eyes of protein deposits

  • Any eye-related issues can respond well to Sananga

  • Chronic pain can be alleviated by regular treatments with Sanagna

Sananga is applied to the eyes. The practitioner will place one drop in each eye of the recipient, who either lies or sits down to receive it. Initially there is some pain the eyes adjust to the presence of the Sananga. The eyes will express tears and eventually the sensations will reduce until they are gone.

We can use Sananga in conjunction with Kambô. Sananga can be applied before the Kambô treatment to loosen any psychic holds and to ground your mind, body, and heart. It can also be used after Kambô to help bring you back into full connection with your body if needed.

A tepi being prepared to serve rapé

Rapé

The word Rapé is pronounced Ha-PAY. The spelling is unfortunately similar to a very different English word, but don't let that fool you. This is beautiful and effective stuff!

Rapé is a snuff made from a variety of ingredients. There are many recipes for different kinds of Rapé, each of which gives a different experience when taken. It may contain tree ash, tobacco, and by-products from many different plants and other substances.

The word used to describe the offering of Rapé is to "pass". One person can pass Rapé to another using a Tepi, which is a form of double-ended pipe. You can also administer Rapé to yourself using a self-applicator called a Kuripe.

There are many reasons to take Rapé. In the context of a Kambô treatment it can be used to help move stuck energy. This can help lead to a purge if one is needed but not happening. It can also help clear the mind and body of blockages that are impeding the release of old patterns, stuck energies, or anything else that we would like to move.

If you are interested in receiving Rapé before or after your Kambô treatment, talk with us beforehand. During a Kambô session, we may suggest it as a way to help move energy. You are always welcome to decline this idea and we will never pressure you to take it.

Dragon's blood being applied to the burns after a kambô treatment

Dragon’s Blood

Dragon's Blood is the sap of the Croton Lechleri, a tree that grows in the Amazon. It is called Sangre de Drago in Spanish. The sap is a form of natural latex that is bright red in color.

Application of Dragon's Blood can have many healing benefits. We use it to treat the gates made in the skin when applying Kambô. Use of Dragon's Blood in this way contributes to:

  • Rapid healing

  • Reduced scarring

  • Anagesic / pain reduction

  • Anti-inflammatory

  • Anti-microbial properties help prevent infection

After application it takes about 15 minutes for the Dragon's Blood to dry, at which point it can be covered by clothing. The next time you bathe it will mostly wash away except for the actual area of the wounds, where the medicine will be fused with the scabs that form until it eventually wears away.

There are many other applications for Dragon's Blood, from treating open cuts and sores to internal use for help with gastrointenstinal troubles, etc.
